Can Reiki motivate or inspire a person who is stuck in a rut?

Q: Can Reiki motivate or inspire a person who is stuck in a rut?

A: It could. If you feel that your life is not moving, you are blocked, or you feel “stuck,” there could be some energy that is just not moving for you. If you are ready for things to resolve and ready to make a change, Reiki can help support you by releasing blockages that could be impeding your progress.

If, on the other hand, you have reasons for being in a stagnant state, if you’re somehow getting attention or some other gain by being where you are, then Reiki won’t help you. That’s because Reiki will support what you really want. You are in charge of your own healing.

Let me give you an example. A person has been unemployed for four months. No leads are evident for a new job. The person is depressed and feels hopeless. The person’s girlfriend is coming over, making him meals to cheer him up, finding him leads to try to apply for, and cleaning up. She thinks she’s being supportive and caring. But he loves being cared for, and the extra time and attention she is showing to him. He has a tiny, niggling fear that if he goes back to work, she will spend less time with him as she did before. So he’s not truly ready to change his situation. Reiki will not change the energy in this situation, because he is holding on to his status for the emotional benefit he is receiving. He needs more time, he needs to feel more secure in his relationship too. It is possible, however, that Reiki will send healing to his heart chakra, the place where his self-worth is energetically located. If he starts to realize that he is worthy of love, no matter what his circumstances, he will gradually become more able to release his need for being taken care of. He will be able to move forward.

Now here’s a different example. A person has been feeling for a while that she’s in the wrong job. She has felt disconnected from her work, and has been longing to make a change. She has been a little afraid of the unknown when taking a leap towards her true desire – to go back to school, go into debt, hope that the move will lead her towards a more fulfilling career. But she also feels a hint of excitement at the idea. She wants to have the courage to give notice and enroll in the college program. She receives Reiki and the energy flows to her second and third chakra, and unblocks the little fears she’s had. She feels positive, empowered, and motivated. She goes ahead and gives notice, enrolls in the program. In this case, she was ready for Reiki to help her. And it did.

So to answer the question, it depends on the person’s readiness to move out of the rut. It’s worth a try. A person who is willing to receive Reiki is probably also willing to examine his or her life, choices, and emotional state of mind. That willingness, that openness, can support unblocking the energetic causes behind the issue.
