Q: Where does Reiki energy come from?
A: Reiki means “guided life force energy.” Life force energy is all around us and within us. When we are connected to the Reiki energy, which we do by intention, we place our awareness on connecting this energy within us to that which is all around us, and we intend for that energy to be guided to balance the energetic imbalances in our recipient.
US–>LIFE FORCE ENERGY–>INTENDED RECIPIENT
In actuality, we are always connected to Reiki energy, because it is life force energy – that energy which animates us and makes us alive. It is our consciousness, our emotions, and what leaves our body at the time of death.
It is the process of placing our attention on this energy, and the way in which we are connected to all life force energy around us, that helps us experience this connection and guide the energy via our intention. Think of being plugged in to an energy source. But it’s not really plugging in (because we are always connected), but practicing Reiki is us turning this flow on – like pushing the “on” button on something we wish to use.
Living in our earthly bodies, we experience the world primarily through our five bodily senses. But techniques which place our attention on our intuition, such as meditation, Reiki and other energy healing modalities, yoga, etc., help us feel this energetic connection with all life. Once we are aware of this connection, we are able to do extraordinary things. We can direct healing energy to another person, to ourselves, or towards a goal by our intention to do so. We are not using our own personal energy, but allowing the energy to flow through us to our goal. There is an infinite supply of healing energy.
So Reiki energy comes from the life force energy that is all around us, like a vast web of energy connecting all life, and the earth. It is an energy that can be felt, directed, and experienced by ourselves and our recipients.
