Q: Is it hard to learn Reiki?
A: Anyone can learn Reiki. (My children, ages 4, 7, 9 and 11 all are attuned to Reiki and use it on themselves and each other daily.) Although anyone can receive Reiki, a person who wishes to give himself or others Reiki need first be attuned by a Reiki Master. An attunement is a simple shift in one’s energy to open the ability to bring in the energy for him or herself. A person attuned to Reiki is able to call the energy to flow through him or her to another person or an intention (i.e. clearing the energy of a room, healing a trauma from the past, sending positive energy to manifest a goal, speeding healing, emotional balance, shedding negative energy, etc.) Attunements can be given in person, or via distance, with equal effectiveness. Most important is to find a good teacher who will guide you in feeling and working with the energy.
Comments: You don’t need any special ability to learn Reiki, and in fact, you could attune yourself to Reiki, although it would be more difficult than learning and being attuned from one who is at the Master level of Reiki. Think of your intuition like a giant radio. Reiki is one station, one frequency. You can meditate, and try to find that specific channel – that “Reiki station” yourself, although with all of the noise and other channels out there, you may miss it, or at least it would take a lot of effort and time. An attunement from a Reiki Master will tune your intuition to the right channel for you, helping you easily and immediately bring in the specific frequency of Reiki energy by intention.
